Day 2 the Great Pyramid of Khufu tour

Today we tour the mysterious Sphinx, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, with its many secrets and the pyramids of Khafre, and Menkaure.

enter to the King's chamber and be told of its mysteries. We will visit the Museum of the Solar Boat which was to be used by the pharaoh in his journey to the underworld.

Day 3 the first Pyramids of Djoser

drive to Sakkara, the oldest pyramid, The Step Pyramid was built during the 3rd Dynasty (2649-2575 BC) for the pharaoh Djoser by his architect Imhotep

Day 4 the West Bank tour

Arrive Luxor, same Pharaohs were sail to West Bank where we see monuments from the New Kingdom. We tour the Colossi of Memnon who was Amenhotep III. Next we explore the Temple of Hatshepsut. Next we explore the Valley of the Kings and visit three of the best tombs.

Day 5 Tombs of the Nobels tour

Tour the Ramesseum, The village of the Artisians, Tombs of the Nobels, You may wish a general tour of Luxor.

Day 6 Abydos and Denderra

Visit the Temple of Abydos & the Temple of Denderra, the temple of Hathor

Day 7 Edfu & Kom Ombo land

Drive more south to visit the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the God Horus. Built in the time of Cleopatra it is a temple of great beauty and of a later time than most Egyptian temples. Continue drive and tour the beautiful Temple of Kom-Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile God. The impressive architecture of this temple must be seen. Arrive Aswan

Day 8 Elephantin Island, the Temple of Philae

This morning there is an optional tour the colossal Rock Temples of the Pharaoh Ramesses the Great and Queen Nefertari.

We return to Aswan, sail to Elephantine Island where the Temple of Philae. Built mostly during the Hellinistic times it is here that the last hieroglyph was carved in cc, 350 AD. Their secret was lost until the 19th century when they were deciphered.

Day 9 Luxor to Alexandria

Arrive Cairo, drive to Alexandria. We tour Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, Turkish Fort, and the New library, which is a reconstruction of the ancient library of Alexandria destroyed in cc 50 BC. We drive back to Cairo.
