Day 1: Arrival at Cancun airport
Stop At: Cancun Airport Transportation, Cancun 77533 Mexico
Arrival in Cancun: your tour will be welcomed by your professional naturalist guide. Transfer to your hotel in Cancun’s hotel zone where you will get a briefing about the activities, our security, and other important information. Overnight in Cancun.

Day 2: Cancún – Isla Mujeres (20 miles/32 km)
Stop At: Isla Blanca 17, Salinas, Isla Mujeres, Q.R., Mexico
After an early breakfast, we will pedal to a small port and take a ferry to Isla Mujeres, where we will cycle around while soaking views of the Caribbean. Then we will take a boat trip to snorkel in the clear blue waters of the world´s second largest coral reef. Time for lunch before returning to Cancun and biking back to the hotel. A special lecture on coral reefs will be given in the evening. Overnight in Cancun.

Day 3: Tulum – Sian Ka’an – Tulum (22 miles/35 km)
Stop At: Tulum Beach, Tulum Mexico
We will leave the hotel after breakfast and travel by van to Tulum, an amazing archeological site overlooking the sea. Tulum is also known as Zama, which means ‘City of Dawn’. Tulum is the only Maya city located directly on the Caribbean Sea. Tulum may have served as a port city for the Maya site of Coba, as there is a sacred road connecting the two. After exploring Tulum we will pedal to Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve where you will have the chance to kayak in the wetlands. While having lunch in the reserve, you will also have the opportunity to learn about environmental technologies. Afterwards we will bike back to our beachfront hotel in the Tulum area.

Day 4: Tulum – Coba (40 miles/ 64 km)
Stop At: Zona Arqueologica de Coba, Coba 77793 Mexico
This day will bring a variety of options along with a great ride. We will travel by bike to Coba, stopping on the way to snorkel in the amazing crystal waters of a Cenote. In the afternoon we will visit Coba’s famous archaeological site, which is believed to be one of the largest Maya cities of Yucatan. Coba is also called “stirred by the wind” because it is situated near four natural lakes. After visiting Coba’s archeological site we will take the van and bicycles and transfer to Valladolid colonial city. You may also attend a special lecture about the Maya culture. Overnight in Valladolid.

Day 5: Valladolid – Ek Balam (38 miles/61 km)
Stop At: Ek' Balam, Temozon Mexico
After breakfast we bicycle through a jungle path to Ek Balam’s archeological site and enjoy a great cenote. Once arrived at the site you will be learning about the culture of Ek Balam and enjoy diving in the crystal clear water of the cenote. After the activities we will turn back to Valladolid by bike. In the afternoon we will do a city tour through Valladolid seeing: murals, the museum of Valladolid and its cathedral. Valladolid is named for the capital of Spain at the time it was settled by Conquistadors. After Campeche and Merida, it is the third largest city on the Yucatan Peninsula. Overnight in Valladolid.

Day 6: Valladolid – Chichen Itza (38 miles/61 km)
Stop At: Merida, Chichen Itza 97751 Mexico
After an early breakfast, we will pedal from the colonial city of Valladolid to the most important archaeological site of the Maya World: Chichén Itzá. The capital of the ancient Maya civilization has recently been declared of being one of the “Seven Modern Wonders of the World.” We will explore the mysteries of the Maya, visit the Temple of Kukulcan, also known as el Castillo and we will visit the Astronomical Observatory at Club Med Chichen. You may opt to attend a light and sound show in Chichén Itzá. We will end the day with a lecture on Chichen Itza and the Maya calendar where we will discuss theories about why the Maya said that 2012 would have been the end of the world. Overnight in Villas Arqueológicas.

Day 7: Xcaret – Cancun
Stop At: Xcaret, Carretera Chetumal-Puerto Juarez Km. 282, Playa del Carmen 77710 Mexico
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before taking a van ride to Xcaret, an archaeological and natural “theme park.” This park is famous for aquatic fun, educational sections and entertainment. Highlights are the park’s two rivers (one with underground tunnels), the aviary, the butterfly and mushroom farms, the aquarium, the turtle breeding and releasing area and outdoor performances. In between the different activities you can enjoy a midmorning or late afternoon snack on your own at any of the park’s various restaurants or snack stands. The evening entertainment is included in the admission. Furthermore, we recommend attending the Mexican Fair at 6.00 pm as well as the fabulous folklore show that begins at 7.00 pm in the amphitheater of Xcaret. Overnight in Cancun (Marriot courtyard).
