I booked this private tour for 4 people and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Jose Manuel Palafox Puc of Transfers USA is the consummate professional. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Yucatán peninsula and he is very personable as well. Our first stop was the archeological ruins at Tulum. Jose Manuel escorted us around the site while giving us a very interesting and detailed account of the Mayans construction and use of this site. Next, we went to Grand Cenote, not far from the Tulum ruins. It was our first cenote swimming experience and we were given as much time as we wanted to explore this beautiful water filled cave. Please note that snorkeling equipment is not provided by the tour operator. We brought our own equipment, but snorkeling masks/tubes, life vests and lockers can be rented cheaply at the cenote site. Jose Manual brought us to a great little lunch spot in the city of Tulum. It was nice to get a taste of how the locals eat. The price of the lunch is not included in the tour, but it was inexpensive and well worth the experience. Our last stop was a private beach club called Caleta Tankah. We spent almost 2 hours at the club, swimming in the Carribbean, suntanning and drinking Pina Coladas. It is a beautiful beach and the club was not crowded on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Food, beverages and bathrooms are available at the club. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:00am and returned at 4:00pm. I was not sure what to expect from this tour since there were no previous reviews I think it is a new tour offering but we were totally thrilled with every part of the tour thanks to Jose Manuel and Transfers USA.
This tour was great. Jose was fantastic. Great mix of history and relaxation between the ruins and the cenote and lastly the beach club. The lunch spot Jose recommended in tulum may be some of the best chicken we've ever had. Highly recommend this tour.
