Day 1: Rio Lagartos - Valladolid
Stop At: Parque Natural Ria Lagartos, Rio Lagartos 97720 Mexico
Rio Lagartos Biosphere to catch a boat and see the diverse species of birds like Herons, fishing Eagle, pelicans and of course the flamingos. Also along the way we may see other inhabitants of the coastal ecosystem within the mangrove forests such as the mighty crocodiles and Raccoons. We arrive at the world famous Coloradas or “magenta waters” these are pink lakes that cover the landscape and contrast beautifully with the blue skies. The amazing pink color of these lakes is due to red-colored algae, plankton, and brine shrimp that thrive in the salty environment and the flamingos are pink because they eat these pink shrimp.

In the morning at the scheduled time (08:30 am) pick up at your hotel to enjoy a full day tour through the most important archaeological sites of the peninsula. The first stop will be in the archaeological zone of Ek Balam (“Star Jaguar or Dark Jaguar” in Maya), with wonderful architecture including “The Acropolis”, which contains the tomb of the ruler Ukit Kan Le’k Tok

Day 3: Merida - Hacienda Yaxcopoil - Cenote - Uxmal - Merida City Tour
