Day 1: Hermanus - Worlds Best Land Based Whale Watching Venue
Stop At: Hermanus Cliff Path, Westcliff Rd, Hermanus, Overstrand 7200 South Africa
Departing from Cape Town at 09h00. The first destination is the African Penguin Colony at Bettys Bay. Our next stop is Hermanus. This quaint seaside village is arguably one of the finest land based whale watching venues world-wide. The town whale crier announces the presence of whales by blowing his horn made of dried seaweed. The steep cliffs and deep water allow the whales to come within a few meters of the shore.

Stop At: Witsand Beach, Main Road, Witsand 6666 South Africa
After lunch and an optional wine tasting the trail takes us to the Breede River and an overnight stop at Witsand. Spend some time in the late afternoon whale watching, then enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: The Garden Route
Stop At: Mossel Bay Tourism, 2 Market Street, Mossel Bay 6506 South Africa
Sunrise will see you at the cliffs of San Sebastion Bay, recognized as having one of the largest population of whales in the Southern Hemisphere. After breakfast the journey takes us through forest and lakes to Knysna. En Route we stop at Mossel Bay and take a boat cruise out to Seal Island. Here you will see hundreds of Cape Fur Seals and perhaps a Great White Shark.

Stop At: Knysna Lagoon, The coast of the city, Knysna 6571 South Africa
The day is ended with an optional evening sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Overnight in Knysna - Jewel of the Garden Route.

Day 3: Knysna Heads
Stop At: Knysna Heads, Coney Glen Road, Knysna 6571 South Africa
In the early morning an optional exciting boat ride through the Knysna Heads will take you out to sea and to visit the playground of the whales. The afternoon is free for optional activities. These include the Knysna Elephant Park or the popular Knysna Township Tour. Those not going out to sea will be taken on a tour of the Knysna surrounds including the Knysna Heads and Brenton on Sea

Stop At: Knysna Lagoon, The coast of the city, Knysna 6571 South Africa
The afternoon is free for optional activities.
Guests may also go for a beach walk at Brenton on Sea - keep an eye open for marine life and the rare endangered Black Oyster Catcher.
After Sunset prepare for a traditional Barbeque (Braai) at the Knysna Yacht Club.

Day 4: Tsitsikamma National Park
Stop At: Central Beach, Hopwood St, Plettenberg Bay, 6600, South Africa
After breakfast the tour winds its way to Plettenberg Bay. Once again you have the optional opportunity to go to sea and experience whales and dolphins at close range. (For those not wanting to go out onto the ocean an alternative land based whale watching trip will be arranged at Keurbooms and Natures Valley)

Stop At: George Airport, George, 6530, South Africa
Lunch may be enjoyed at the beachfront before departing for George for your onward flight. Guests have an option of continuing their journey by air, luxury coach or private road transfer.
