About this activity
After a 40-minute flight from Caracas, you will get an elliptic view of the archipelago enclosing a lagoon surrounded by white sand beaches bathed by turquoise water, mangroves and magnificent coral reefs teeming with marine life. Such an alluring vision welcomes you to Los Roques National Park.
Once commercial airlines started providing regular flights to Los Roques, tourism became an additional source of income and many fishermen’s houses were turned into “posadas” or small guest houses. In order to preserve and protect the National Park, the posadas offer a maximum of 10 rooms and have only one floor. In the village you will only find a few sandy roads, there are no cars.
The archipelago is blessed with an average temperature of 28.8o C (82 o F) all year-round.
For those who do not wish to spend their entire vacation just lying on the beach, sport activities such as snorkeling, diving, bonefish and deepwater fishing, windsurfing and ultralight aircraft over the archipelago can be arrange locally as well.
Day 1
Caracas - Los Roques
Departure with a morning flight to Los Roques. Arrival to the island of Gran Roque. Excursion to nearby cays in peñero (local motor boat) with box lunch on the beach. Late afternoon return to posada and Check-in for overnight stay.
