On this tour you will visit, not only these, but the most significant treasures of the city accompanied by an expert guide. On the grand city tour of Cartagena you will enjoy the magic of the streets, churches, museums and squares of the old Cartagena. As you walk through the streets, you will be amazed by the contrast between the wealth and magnificence of Calamarí and the warmth and the discreet charm of Getsemaní. In this neighborhood of cobblestone streets and colonial houses, you will visit the famous Plaza del Comercio; then you will walk further through the old city to the Plaza de Bolivar where you will enter the Inquisition Palace, one of Cartagena’s best examples of late colonial, local architecture. Then you will go to the San Pedro Claver church, which was built in the second half of the 17th century. After a lunch stop, you will continue to the Isla de Manga, where you can visit the Fuerte del Pastelillo, there you can enjoy the architecture of the Republican houses and Cartagena’s Moorish style that dates back to the early twentieth century. From this site, Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, the largest military architectural structure left by the Spaniards in America. The grand city tour will conclude outside of the old city of Cartagena, with a walk around the bay that offers the best view of the Tierra Bomba Island, the Bocagrande Canal and the beach area.
