you never miss such an amazing experience in Chengdu. You never find this market scattered in local alleys from any tourist guidebook and this is absolutely the best way to see how a local chengdunese spend a day. Karen is a local and she's friendly, passionate and speak very good english. She introduced the history of the buildings, explained how to make sichuan pickles. tell me the features of different spices, especially sichuan peppercorn and chilli. We have sampled vegetarian spring roll, preserved egg, pickles, plum wine, noodles, stir-fry large intestine, Douhua. My stomach and appetite were so satisfied and Karen always encouraged me to try more food. Another interesting thing is no matter where you go in the market, you can hear and see people playing Majaing. If you want to experience a realy authentic, down-to-earth Chengdu life, Just come with Karen.
