I can't recommend this highly enough for both components of the tour. Philip is an enthusiastic, charming and above-all, highly knowledgeable guide - not just about pandas and food, he's a dedicated birder too, and identified all the different birds we saw at the panda base. Be prepared for an early start, but it's worth it to beat the crowds and catch the pandas before they go to sleep after breakfast! The cooking class was both a surprise and a delight, as it is not a daunting cookery school or restaurant 'experience' but a chance to understand and join in real Sichuan home-cooking with the most charming possible of teachers. Take this tour! You won't regret it!
