You first stop will be at DakshinChitra, an exciting cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts of South India. DAKSHINA CHITRA has relocated 18th, 19th and early 20th century houses and re-created village streets and work places providing authentic insights into the domestic architecture, spatial organisation, life-styles and character of the essential Tamilian or Keralite or Andhrite or Kannadiga. After interactive and education visit of DakshinChitra, drive to UNESCO world heritage site, Mamallapuram, known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. The structures here, mostly carved straight out of granite, are among the oldest existing examples of Dravidian (South Indian) architecture. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Krishna’s Butter Ball is a massive boulder balanced on a small hill near the Ganesha Ratha stone temple.
