Whilst walking is one way to explore this area in more detailed way why not it fun and take the strain off your feet! You can choose one of the latest modes of transport to hit Chiang Mai! Why not hop on a Segway, which is fun and effortless. A Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing electric transport allowing you to see the sights where normally cars do not reach.

With this unique and personal transport machine, you can explore the entire old quarter of Chiang Mai, at east hitting all the major sites and attractions with less effort. You will feel a pleasant breeze as you glide down the maze of narrow streets passing various magnificent sites. From our central meeting point in Chiang Mai near the Tapae Gate, we head out for a 2-hour glide into the old part of this enchanting city. This amazing sightseeing tour starts along the main city walls, gates and moat, and the local market and Tapae Gate before we hit temples such as the Wat Chedi Luang which is one of the most significant temples in Chiang Mai, and the Wat Pan Tao. We continue heading towards the Wat Phra Singh; the Wat Pra Singh or Monastery of the Lion Lord, founded in the 14th century to house the ashes of King Kham Fu and serve as the principal religious center of the Lanna Kingdom. The complex is composed of several buildings of varying architectural and artistic merit that form the most famous temple in Chiang Mai. 

The Three Kings Monument – almost in the center of the old walled city – is a monument erected to pay respect to three important kings of what Lanna culture is nowadays. Statues of King Mengrai, the founder of Chiang Mai; his contemporary and reportedly good friend King Ramkamhaeng of Sukhothai; and King Ngam Muang of Payao are displayed and one can see that these kings continue to be a source for locals to commemorate these kings of old times.

We end the tour with Wat Chiang Man, the city’s oldest temple and famed for a Chedi supported by rows of elephantine buttresses before we guide our personal transporter back to our starting point.
