Óbidos is a Portuguese village in the district of Leiria, located in the province of Estremadura integrating the Intermunicipal Community of the West in the region of the Center, with about 2 200 inhabitants.
Seat of a municipality with 141,55 km ² of area and 11 772 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 7 parishes. The municipality is limited to the northeast and east by the municipality of Caldas da Rainha, to the south by Bombarral, to the southwest by Lourinhã, to west by Peniche and to the northwest coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
In 2007 the Castle of Óbidos was declared by the contest the Seven Wonders of Portugal the second of the seven most important monuments of the Portuguese architectural heritage.
On 11 December 2015, UNESCO considered Óbidos as a literary city as part of the Creative Cities Network program.

Nazaré is a Portuguese village, in the district of Leiria, home to the homonymous municipality with about 10 300 inhabitants. Located in the province of Extremadura integrating the Intermunicipal Community of the West in the region of the Center.
The town is home to a small municipality with 82.43 km ² of area and 15 158 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 3 parishes. The municipality is surrounded to the north, east and south by the county of Alcobaça and to the west borders with Atlantic Ocean.
The present urban space of the village brings together three ancient settlements, Pederneira, Sítio da Nazaré and Praia da Nazaré, and new neighborhoods of the second half of the 20th century, such as Urbisol or Rio Novo, arising as a result of the natural expansion of the three primitive nuclei.

Other sacred sites include the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary with its golden angels and the modern Church of the Holy Trinity. The Museum of Sacred Art and Ethnology exhibits religious artifacts.

Not far from the center, known for its Art Nouveau buildings, is the Sé de Aveiro, with its prominent bell tower. The Aveiro Museum, housed in a former convent, has an extravagant tomb made of marble.
