Day 1: COLOMBO – WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK – ANURADHAPURA

Wilpattu National Park is a park located on the island of Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka.

Pass By: Arcade Independence Square, 7 Colombo, Colombo 00700 Sri Lanka
The Arcade Independence Square is a high-end shopping complex housed in a group of renovated colonial-era buildings in Colombo. It portrays a truly exemplary story of emergence from the depths of despair into a new life of hope and joy. It was built as a part of the Independence Square Redevelopment program initiated by the Sri Lankan Government. The setting and the design of the building including the interior, promoted maximum daylight, secured the greatest amount of circulation of air about the buildings and enabled every part to profit by the prevailing winds.


Pass By: Independence Square, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7 Sri Lanka
Independence Square is a popular stopping place on a city tour so visitors can walk around the structure or relax in the shade of the avenue of mango trees. Close to the Square is the Arcade, a modern shopping mall housed in former colonial government buildings brightened with a fountain, covered ponds, and more statues of lions. Independence Square is in the prestigious Cinnamon Gardens district of Colombo where spacious tree-lined boulevards remain from colonial days and take its name from the Independence Memorial Hall built there to commemorate the independence of Sri Lanka from British rule in 1948.

Day 2: ANURADHAPURA – COLOMBO

Stop At: Mihintale, Anuradhapura Sri Lanka
Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka

This city is known as the home of an offspring of the Bo tree where the Buddha found enlightenment.

Stop At: Ruwanwelisaya, Abhayawewa Rd, Anuradhapura 50000 Sri Lanka
As the oldest stupa in Sri Lanka, Ruwanwelisaya is considered to be an icon of architectural glory in ancient Sri Lanka. Ruwanwelisaya, rising with its glory in the city of Anuradhapura, tops the list among Buddhists’ sacred places. Ruwenwelisaya bears witness for his incomparable service to revive Buddhism in the country. It is located just a short walk away from Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura. The stupa is one of the eight places of veneration situated in Anuradhapura which are places believed to have been visited by Buddha during his three visits to Sri Lanka.

Stop At: Ritigala Forest Monastery, Anuradhapura Sri Lanka
Ritigala Mountain at a height of 766 m above the sea-level is the highest mountain in the north-central dry plains of Sri Lanka. The mountain mass about three miles long and about two miles wide at its widest point is covered with dense jungle inhabited by wild elephants, leopards and bears. It is the watershed of the Malwatu Oya which feeds the Nachaduwa tank and Kalueba Ela which feeds Huruluwewa. The Ritigala Mountain has been declared a Strict Natural Reserve in order to maintain its pristine environment

Pass By: Tissa Wewa, Anuradhapura Sri Lanka
Tissa Wewa is an ancient irrigation tank was built by King Devanampiya Tissa (250-210 BC). Only Panda Wewa and Abhaya Wewa are considered to be older than Tissa Wewa. The embankment of Tissa Wewa is 11,000 feet long (Two miles) and 25 feet high. The width of the top of the reservoir was found to be 12 feet to 18 feet. The base of the embankment is 160 feet. Tissa Wewa has an area of approximately 550 acres.
