Fort is the central business district of Colombo in Sri Lanka. It is the financial district of Colombo and the location of the Colombo Stock Exchange and the World Trade Centre of Colombo from which the CSE operates. It is also the location of the Bank of Ceylon headquarters.

Colombo Municipal Council building, or famously known as “Colombo Town Hall” one of the prominent land mark in Colombo. This building is located in front of the Viharamahadevi park and currently houses Colombo Municipality mayor’s office, admin staff and council meeting room.

Stop At: Pettah Floating Market, Bastian Mawatha, Colombo Sri Lanka
The Pettah Floating Market opened on the 25th of August to a lot of hype, and it's worth it. The place is another part of Colombo's fancy urban development plan along with Arcade Independence Square, but much more accessible to everyone. Colombo has never had such an amazing hangout space before, and it's affordable.

Galle Face is a 5 ha (12 acres) ocean-side urban park, which stretches for 500 m (1,600 ft) along the coast, in the heart of Colombo, the financial and business capital of Sri Lanka. The promenade was initially laid out in 1859 by Governor Sir Henry George Ward, although the original Galle Face Green extended over a much larger area than is seen today. The Galle Face Green was initially used for horse racing and as a golf course, but was also used for cricket, polo, football, tennis and rugby.

The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, is a convention center located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Built between 1970 and 1973, the convention centre was a gift from the People's Republic of China in memory of Solomon Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike, Prime Minister.

Gangaramaya Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. The temple is known for having a young elephant, Ganga, chained at the back, unable to walk, has no elephant company, and sways sideways. She has also been spotted crying by tourists

Independence Square is still a great place to relax in Colombo. It's part monument, part park, part walking ground. It's main function seems to be as the place where Colombars go for their evening constitutional.

The Colombo Museum as it was called at the beginning was established on 1st January 1877. It founder was Sir William Henry Gregory, the British Governor of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) at the time. The Royal Asiatic Society (CB) was instrumental in bringing to the notice of Gregory on his appointment as Governor in 1872 the need for a public museum with much difficulty the approval of the legislative council was obtained within a year.
