About this activity
Halfway between Huatulco and Oaxaca we stop at San Jose del Pacifico, a typical small town built on top of one of the highest peaks of the Sierra Madre. You’ll find the view to be absolutely overwhelming. Then there is San Bartolo, famous for its black clay potteries and later the famous ruins of Monte Alban, the cradle of the Zapotec civilization. Arriving to the ¨Green City¨ we’ll visit the church of Santo Domingo, which has international fame because of its golden walls and its regional museum. Here’s good bargaining at the main market and we’ll also visit the nearby cathedral. The morning after, we’re going to visit Santa Maria, the famous ¨Tule¨, which is actually the oldest and tallest tree in the Oaxaca city. In Teotitlan del Valle you will be able to find the best hand-woven materials as well as all kinds of embroidered garments. The ruins of Mitla are a perfect testimony of the ancient Mixtec civilization.
