Itinerary
Day 1: From Cusco
Stop At: Pisac Market, Central Plaza, Pisac Peru
Meet our guide between 7:35 to 7:45am in the lobby of your Cusco hotel and travel through the mountains to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Relax and take in the spectacular views along the drive, including the World Heritage-listed Saqsaywaman citadel and Tambomachay, a historic series of aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls. The winding road descends 1,500 feet (457 meters) and travels alongside the sacred Urubamba River. Arrive at the village of Pisac, where you can visit the lively traditional market and perhaps pick up some souvenirs. Then continue to Pisac's Incan ruins, which lie atop a hill with stunning views over the valley. Stroll around the ancient temples, altars, baths, water fountains, and marvel at the inti watana, a volcanic outcrop carved known as a "hitching post for the sun."
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo, Ollantaytambo 08676 Peru
Climb back into your vehicle for the 40-minute journey to Urubamba, where you can enjoy a buffet lunch (own expense) before continuing on to the town of Ollantaytambo, another Inca archaeological site. Stroll around the temples, terraces, and storehouses under the watchful gaze of the Inca god Wiracocha, whose image is carved into Pinkuylluna Mountain overlooking Ollantaytambo. Later, board the train to Aguas Calientes, or Machu Picchu Town. On arrival, you will be collected from the station and taken to your 3-star hotel, where your guide will meet you for a short briefing ahead of your tour of Machu Picchu the following day. * Enjoy a private Cusco city tour (optional, if you chose it instead of Sacred valley tour on day 1) before taking the train to Aguas Calientes. Visit Saccsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay, The Cathedral of Cusco, and the Koricacha. Later, transfer to Ollantaytambo and take the train to Aguas Calientes.
Duration: 4 hours

Accommodation included: Overnight at 3-star hotel Casa Andina Classic or Similar
Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Stop At: Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu Peru
After a restful night's sleep and an early breakfast, board a bus to Machu Picchu with your guide, arriving in time for sunrise. You can complete this trek on your own, without a guide, in around 2-hours. Return to Machu Picchu and re-join your guide for a 2-hour tour of this 15th-century Inca citadel, visiting the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred solar clock, the royal quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, and various cemeteries. Afterwards, you will have some free time to relax and soak up the views before taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch (at own cost) and perhaps soothe your muscles with a dip in the hot springs (own cost). In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo where tour driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

This trip started off very rocky. The main issue was that there was ZERO communication regarding where/when to meet the week leading up to the trip. I have purchased many tours on viator in the past and have always been contacted by the tour company prior to the trip regarding the trip details and what time pick-up will be/etc. In this case, I heard nothing at all from this tour even in the days leading up to my purchased date, and I had to search online for contact information to get in touch with the company. There were others in my tour group who had the same issue. One lady said that she had not heard anything from the tour company even the NIGHT before her tour was supposed to depart. It was not until she messaged them urgently that they finally sent her communication and sent information about where to meet the next day. This gave us the impression that the tour company was trying to take our money without giving us the tour as we had all paid up front, and therefore the tour company had no incentive to actually take us on the tour if we did not contact them. That being said, once we finally were able to get ahold of the tour company, the rest of the trip was smooth. The experience is delivered as promised. Overall, this tour company just needs to fix the way they handle the start of the tour.
Our trip was very well organised. Contact throughout via WhatsApp was very helpful, as was the face to face briefing the evening before when we were given a clear itinerary and all relevant tickets. Punctual pickup on the day. Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu were incredible. Our guide Fabricio, whose English was very good, was excellent. His friendly enthusiasm and knowledge made the visits very informative and enjoyable. Our experience could only be improved by maybe upgrading the overnight hotel from three to four star if you want to pay the extra for one night and a bit more comfort. Overall we were more than happy with all the arrangements and our trip.
Great coordination and communication. Tour guides were helpful and clear. Would def recommend to others.
First of all, the visit of Machu Picchu on the second day was amazing. However, the first day in the Sacred Valley was like a promotional trip. Unfortunately, we visited the breathtaking antique constructions just for a short amount of time. Moreover, we rushed through the important monuments we came for. We even paid extra money for all attractions in the Sacred valley, but just visited 2 of 4. Unnecessarily, we then went to a local market providing lots of stuff you see on every corner, as well as to local shops like an alpaca wool fabrication and a jewelry, where we lost a lot of time. As mentioned above, more valuable sightseeing was left out. My recommendation is to just book the one day trip and plan to visit the sacred valley with another tour operator!
This tour was great - and was a great value. Fabrizio was wonderful as our guide at the Sacred Valley and we were well informed and well taken care of. The train ride was a highlight. Our three-star hotel in Aguas Calientes was a really pleasant surprise. We didn't know what to expect, but we were comfortable and had a nice (if short) night there. Our Macchu Picchu guide, José Luis was flexible and we arranged to hike to Sun Gate by ourselves, then meet him for our guided tour of Macchu Picchu. It was the perfect trip for us. We took great pictures and made great memories.
It was a big pleasure. The tour was well organized, the hotel in the Sacred Valley was very nice, the guides were full of knowledge, caring and helpful. All the tour, with buses, trains, entrance tickets and hotels worked as Swiss watch.
This was a great 2 day tour. There is a fair amount of walking involved and changing elevations. Be prepared to awake very early to arrive at Machu Picchu for sunrise. There is a bit of a que in the morning for for the bus up, but it moved fairly fast. The guides were informative and I met some great people on the trip.
Excellent tour. It is a lot of moving parts but everything went perfectly! Elvis our guide for Day 1 — was extremely knowledgeable. I agree with previous reviews about hotel in Machu Picchu — it’s not the best (our room had a strange smell) but we were there for such a short time not a big deal.
This was a great experience. We took this tour in May 2018. Our guide picked us up at our hotel in Cusco right on time. It was a private tour, with the guide and the driver, and we visited a few places in sacred valley before reaching Pisac. We got a well guided tour of the Pisac ruins, visited the Pisac market, drove through the scenic sacred valley, and at the end visited the ruins at Ollantaytambo. Our guide left us at the entrance to the train station, from where we caught the vista dome train to Aguas Calientes. When we reached AC, there was a person at the station waiting for us with our name, and accompanied us to our hotel. He explained to us in detail about the next days activities. Next day early morning we walked to the bus stop and met our Machu Picchu guide, who accompanied us on the bus and then gave us a wonderful guided tour of Machu Picchu. Getting back to AC and then to Ollantaytambo was a breeze, and there was another driver waiting for us at the station, who dropped us at out hotel in Cusco. Overall a great tour that I will remember for a long time. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour operators were on top of their game! We had a member of the team meet us the evening before both days 1 and 2 to let us know what to expect for the next day. Everything went smoothly and according to the itinerary. We were brought directly to the train station and had people waiting with a sign with our names when we arrived at our destinations for easy transportation. Our tour guides were great and professional. We went with the standard option for the train and were happy with our decision. We did not feel the need to upgrade the train as it was clean and comfortable. However, if you can afford to upgrade the hotel I would strongly recommend it. Even though it was close to the train/buses, the room was incredibly dirty and smelly. Not the tour operator's fault though. Still would highly recommend this trip.
Okay - This is simply a 1 day tour which they stretch it over 2 days with the unnecessary need of staying in a hotel in Aguas Calientes. They tell you that food is not included yet only take you to their singled out restaurant where you're forced to pay for the buffet which doesn't have much again. There was a pizza shop in the distance yet they would turn it down. There are some really nice tour operators out there. Would not recommend this.
Good one.
