In Limatambo (distric of Cusco) is located the Chonta Canyon where we can observe the Andean Condors.

This archaeological center is located in the district of Limatambo, one hour and 40 minutes by car northwest of Cusco. In the Inca period, this temple had the purpose of being a ceremonial center located at the beginning of Chinchaysuyo. There is also a stone altar ("usnu"), agricultural platforms with their respective source and irrigation channel, there are walls and trapezoidal niches the size of a person. Finally, it is said that it would have been built in order to establish a Tambo of rest, in the way towards the zone of the Chinchaysuyo (oriente).
For the Incas the condor or Apu Kuntur was a "Messenger of the Gods" who flew to the upper level of the religious world (the Hanan Pacha) to take the prayers to the gods. It is the union between Hanan Pacha (sky) and Kay Pacha (earth).
The condor symbolized strength, intelligence and exaltation or exaltation. It was an animal respected by all those who lived in the Andes, since it not only brought good and bad omens, but also was responsible for the Sun to leave every morning, because with his energy he was able to take the star and elevate it on the mountains beginning the life cycle
