We will pick you up from your hotel between 3:30 to 4:00 a.m. depends of the location, We will then travel in our private transport to Mollepata located in the lush valley of the Apurimac River, which is approximately 2 hours away from Cusco. after mollepata we will continue for about 45 min more for a quick breakfast to get some energy before our hike! We will continue on our journey by car towards Soraypampa, approximately one hour (3900msnm). Here, we will begin our trek to Lake Humantay located at 4200mt (13779 feet). The hike up will take around 1 hour and 30 min and is a fairly steep hike up. If the climb is too difficult, you can take a horse up to the lake. All the hardship will be forgotten when you reach the top and see the magnificent Apu Humantay Lake. Up at the top we will learn about why this site was considered sacred for the Incas and take time to appreciate the breathtaking views. If you want to be super adventurous, you can jump in this glacier lake before we begin our descent. Once at the bottom, we will return to Mollepata and eat a delicious lunch. Finally, we will take our transportation back to Cusco and enjoy a much needed siesta!

Although exhausting, we had a great time exploring Humantay Lake. There was an option to rent a horse for the hike but we decided to hike on our own. The scenery is just gorgeous. The staff were all professional. The included meals were OK. Would highly recommend this tour.
