Stop At: Mikumi National Park, A7, Tanzania
Early morning, 5.30 am, pick up from your Hotel / Airport or another agreed point in Dar es Salaam to start your day safari with the roughly 5-6 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. On arrival, go straight into a game drive. Short break for lunch and after lunch, continue with the game drive for more wildlife sightings explore the varied terrain of the park, which includes a floodplain, the ‘little Serengeti,’ and hippo pools where the enormous creatures wallow in thick mud. Mikumi National Park is on the northern border of Africa’s largest game reserve, the Selous, part of a sprawling wilderness area that reaches almost to the Indian Ocean. Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. You'll have the chance to see a variety of animals, such as buffalo, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, and hippos. Conclude your game drive at 4 -5 pm, and return to the park entrance for the trip back to Dar Es Salaam. Finish the day with drop-off at the original departure point.
