About this activity
Following pickup from Denver Union Station, travel by comfortable, air-conditioned coach into the famous Rocky Mountains, or Rockies for short. Your knowledgeable driver delves into the powerful geologic forces that created this stunning mountain range as you drive over Berthoud Pass, 11,314 feet (3,448 meters) above sea level, crossing the Continental Divide.

Continue to admire the rugged Rockies as you descend curving, tree-lined roads. You will drive through Winter Park, a small ski resort town on the western slope of the Continental Divide with fun family activities throughout the year. Then you will head to the next town, Grand Lake. Enjoy lunch at an outdoor cafe with fantastic views of the town's namesake, the largest and deepest natural lake in Colorado.

Your tour culminates at Rocky Mountain National Park, a 265,000-acre (107,240-hectare) park with 150 lakes and dozens of lofty mountain peaks. Keep your eyes open for elk, bighorn sheep, moose and black bears as you make your way through the park. Drive along Trail Ridge Road, ascending more than 12,000 feet (3,658 meters) above sea level. Along the way, pause at overlooks for incredible photo ops of peaks, valleys and rushing streams.

Enjoy more scenic mountain roads on your return journey, and conclude your 10-hour day trip in central Denver.

Great tour guide (Autumn), fantastic scenery. The bus/ticket process is rough. Need to have driver announce the tour at Union Station so guests aren't confused. Way too long at Cherry Creek stop verifying tickets and issuing new tickets. Viator or Grey Line staff should board the bus for this step.

The views were so amazing. The food we were served for lunch was delicious. Our driver....needed to go back to drivers ed. Also, our bus was so full we barley had room to sit. Not a comfortable ride at all. Also, adding in a stop to a gift shop somewhere would’ve been nice. That was our only day out there and we didn’t go to any of the cute shops we passed by.

My friend and I took the 10-hour tour through the Rocky Mountains last Friday. The ride was gorgeous! We observed a lot of beautiful scenery during the tour. The bus was comfortable and clean. Our driver Roger was a safe driver. He handled the bus great through the mountains on small winding roads. Most of the drive he was a bit uptight but toward the end he loosened up a little. However, our tour guide Dave left a lot to be desired. Interaction with the 30+ guest did not exist. He had no interpersonal skills. When he gave details, it was about things of little importance. At first, I thought he was ignoring questions that travelers had, but later realized that he just didn't hear them. Therefore, many questions about certain things went unanswered. He literally fell asleep once and dropped his microphone. Although we would often travel for 20 or more minutes without him saying anything. The stop for lunch was nice. The food was decent. The photo opts were great as well. However the driver and guide talked amongst themselves as to if they would stop at certain stops, so I am not sure how many stops we may have missed. In all, I am glad I made the decision to take the tour while visiting Denver. The RMNP is beautiful and certainly worth the visit.

The scenery was beyond words!! Seeing wild elks and deers sipping on a natural lake was unreal. I just did not like and will give them an F minus when it comes to check inn.Rating this tour got me confused between F customer service! And A on the scenery! You have to get on the bus so early....then get out and wait in a Que to get your voucher scanned then get back on. Doing that with kids at 7 - 8 am in the morning id imagine it to be a nightmare!!
