Newgrange: this megalithic structure, built before the pyramids, looks spectacular from the sky, the large circular mound is ringed by a stone circle where twice a year, at the solstice, the sun pours in through the narrow passage to light up the tomb in the center. The Hill of Tara: it is only from the air that you can see the full circle of the ring forts at Tara and truly appreciate Ráith na Ríogh or the Fort of the King at the ancient seat of the High King of Ireland. The Battle of the Boyne: this is where the battle between the Catholic James II and the Protestant William III of England this took place.
