About this activity
Board your coach from the Dublin Visitor Centre and travel in style directly to Ireland’s most impressive natural attraction: the Cliffs of Moher. This round-trip drive takes roughly 8 hours, with 2 hours to spend independently at the site, where you’ll have the freedom to explore this natural wonder at your own pace.
En route, your driver makes a stop in the village of Doolin, home to Ireland’s burgeoning surf scene in addition to some restaurants and traditional Irish pubs.
On arrival at the World Heritage–listed Geopark, learn about its array of flora and fauna as well as its place in Irish history and folklore at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. Stroll the grassland paths along the cliff’s edge and peer at the sea stacks, sea caves, and rock arches from the viewing platform. You may even recognize the site as a filming location from the 2009 movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. The cliffs and surrounding area were magnificent. Our driver and guide Richard O'Brien was excellent!! Richard was friendly, knowledgeable, and very witty. We were on a cruise and on a tight schedule. Although this was not a shore excursion we went anyway. After a traffic jam on the way back to Dublin, Richard went out of his way and rerouted the bus around Dublin and dropped us off at the pier. Literally, right at the gangway!!!
This was a really great tour and the cliffs are a must see if you are traveling to Ireland. Although the drive from Dublin to the coast is a bit long, the scenery along the way and multiple quick stops made make the journey easier. The tour left on time, the bus was very comfortable and our guide (Brian) was excellent. To sum it up, in my opinion, this tour was excellent and a great value for the money.
This is a great thing to do if you have already taken in the sights of Dublin which really does not take more than two days. One thing to note is that the ride is a bit long -- it takes about 3 hr 45 minutes in total each way. The bus stops once each way for a bathroom break which is helpful. If you go, be sure to take the supplemental boat ride where you can see the Cliffs from the water -- it is a very rocky ride but you don't want to go home without adding that piece to your Irish adventure.
It is a self guided tour. A driver will take you to the places, but no guide during the ride and at the places. I chose this one because the departure time was later in the morning compared to the other tours available to the Cliffs of Moher. After the Cliffs of Moher, you have a choice of stopping at the Doolin Village or take the ferry ride to see the Cliffs at your own expense. I chose the ferry ride which is very nice. I just regret not packing snacks for this day trip, because I had no time to buy any food. I could've allocated time to eat, however I chose to enjoy the little time I had at the cliffs and I chose the ferry tour instead of the Doolin Village where they have places to eat. I advise to pack snacks for this trip.
The drive is long but the driver's unofficial tour commentary was great. You can tell he enjoyed giving the tour and even had a sample of dried pit bog to pass around. The Cliffs are an amazing site and you can walk as much or as little as you want and still see a lot of it, but as one would expect it's very windy. The village is very nice, we spent most of the time at the pub having lunch, which was also very good. The Beef and Guinness Irish stew is worth a try. Make sure to keep some change to tip the driver at the end as he deserves it.
You can't call this a Trip. It was just a transport by very small bus to Cliffs of Moher. There was no guide and the only thing the driver said was when to come back to the bus.
Timeline was not clearly communicated. Seatbelt was broken on the seat right by the door creating great discomfort during the ride. But it was well priced and the cliffs were amazing so it was well worth it.
its a lot of travel for a bit of a short trip, but the driver was great and the views are beautiful.
I do NOT recommend this tour. First, there was no guide on the bus, only a driver who never shared a plan for the day. Second, the tour is advertised as 10 hours, yet it was a full 11.5 hrs. 45 minutes of which spent at gas stations.. Go to the Cliffs - just with a different company!
