Barry is a great and informative guide, had a wonderful time learning more about the areas that we visited. Even though we had trouble finding Molly Malone at first, we were able to catch up with the rest of the group. The weather caused us to miss the boat tour part of our trip but we were refunded for it. We got completely soaked at the top of the cliffs but it was amazing! Would definitely go again.
This was a terrific tour but you should be aware that it involves sitting on the tour bus for 3+ hours each way to get there and then get back to Dublin. The cliffs are wonderful, the boat ride is pretty choppy (don’t do it if you have any motion sickness) but well worth it. Our tour guide, Rob, was very good and entertaining. He even sang us a couple of Irish ditties. We really enjoyed the tour but didn’t enjoy sitting on the bus to get there and back. The cliffs are on the western side of Ireland and getting there isn’t half the fun. I don’t want to discourage anyone from this tour but you really should be aware of the time commitment of doing nothing. We also stopped for lunch at a fish and chips restaurant where the food was mediocre at best. We’ve had better fish and chips at C. B. Potts in Denver.
Jim was our tour guide and he was an absolute gem. He told us little facts all along the way and did his best to entertain and keep the tour on time. It was extremely foggy the day we went and we got magnificent views from the cruise even though it was a bit foggy from the cliff top. To truly get a sense of how majestic the cliffs are I’d recommend the cruise. It is a long day but they do plenty of pit stops for food and bathroom breaks.
Trip was perfect! The day started out on time. The first stop at the sheep ranch was very educational from the old encampment to the sheep herding dog demonstration. Next stop the cliffs, first stop there was the bottom tour. Ocean was calm and sunny. Then to the top. Perfect day sunny and no strong wind. Trip home was fast.
Our driver was fantastic. The history and stories made the drive seem much shorter! There is so much beauty and history and story to absorb. Walking where the ancients once walked is soul stirring. The Atlantic gave us a taste of her power on the boat ride which prevented any up close views of the cliffs and wildlife, but it was incredible still. Walking the cliffs after a very lively guided tour was breathtaking (literally, as the winds were 20+mph!) Would LOVE to do it again!
The tour was comfortable, and interesting. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. The seas were too rough, so we couldn't go on the boat.
We had an amazing journey to the Cliffs of Moher. Our tour guide, Sandra was very resourceful and helpful. She told us many fun facts about Ireland. We had a small group in the coach bus so the ride and throughout the day was quite enjoyable.
