A great introduction to scientific discoveries of the early days to include Galileo, Capurnicus, Cosimo, Columbus, Americus Vespucius, and others. Our guide Leonardo was excellent at illustrating how the 14th and 15 century economic, scientific and political climate of Tuscany in general and Florence in particular impacted the development of science. The tour was very informative but not in a droning on and on way. There were so many interesting displays..., exhibits related to medical devices, astronomy, physics, cartography/maps/globes, like when they thought the world was flat and also after realizing it was not... Again our guide was excellent, both informative and entertaining with good sense of humor and an ability to speak to all levels of understanding within our group. Good for school age children to bring alive things they are learning in school and for adults to understand the driving forces behind the discoveries.
