We were upgraded to the Tuscany Farmhouse rather than city experience, which was nice of them...but the experience was very underwhelming. We were rushed onto a bus and driven out to a farmhouse outside of town. There was no explanation or tour of the organic farm (unless you count having to wait outside for 25 minutes while the bus came). Not sure why it couldn’t be timed better. The “wine tasting” was a bottle of unmarked red wine on the table which was never acknowledged by the chef. Almost nobody had any because people weren’t sure whether we should be waiting for a specific moment or not...apparently not. No idea what kind of wine it was. We didn’t actually make gelato (we watched it being made). We also just sat around for long periods of time doing nothing as the chef disappeared into the back. People we knew took a similar tour with another company and it sounded like a FAR superior experience. Making the pizza was fun though. Surprised this gets such good reviews though! Would not recommend.
Also a single, several families made an event of it and it was well suited. Hands-on pzza dough was my best take-aways. Not for those that want to learn any other techniques.
We took this class in Florence with the Caterinas and Nicolo! They were fantastic teachers and took extra time to make sure everyone had a great time! All of the teachers took time to demonstrate slowly and clearly and were eager to provide not only information about pizza making but about the best places to visit in Florence! We would do this class again if we stayed in Florence longer!
Had a great time with Caterina, Martina and Jon. It was a fun time to make our own pizza. We mostly just watched them make gelato but there was good information and it tasted good. There is a walk from where you meet to start so be aware of that.
This class was fun and informative. Chef was very interactive. I walked away with valuable skills to utilize at home.
This was soooo much fun! We had great fun learning how to make pizza and gelato - with a ton of tips we plan to share at home with our family when we have our own pizza and gelato night. Our chef, Giuseppe, walked us through everything, with clear instructions. And the pizza was delicious!!
Enjoyed the hands on class learning to make authentic pizza and gelato....and then eating. Instructors great!!!!
This was a fun way to experience Italian food with kids... getting your hands dirty and filling your belly with good food. Niccolo and Martina I hope I got that right did a great job demonstrating and also providing little tips for making our pizzas at home even better.
Great fun. Learned new techniques. Chef was professional, knowledgeable, and funny. Go hungry. Perfect for all ages and all levels of cooking experience.
We took the pizza and gelato making class during our recent trip to Florence. We had a great experience. The instructor was very patient and helpful. Everything was well organized and easy to follow along in spite of the fact my sons didn’t have a lot of cooking experience. My two teenage sons absolutely loved the class. In fact, they both said it was the best part of our trip. Our instructor even gave us tips on what to look for when buying gelato at a gelateria. I also liked the fact that the class wasn’t too large making it a more intimate setting.I highly recommend this as a fun hands-on activity to do with the family.
I traveled with a group of 16 high school students from the USA to Florence. We took the pizza and gelato class on one of our first nights and the kids loved it! At the end of the week, many of the students said this was there favorite event/dinner of the week. Fun, informative, hands-on literally and a great way to combine an activity and a meal.
