About this activity
Michelangelo's David
On this guided Florence tour, you'll visit the Accademia and visit the Michelangelo's David statue. Upon seeing this masterpiece, it's easy to understand how no other artist in Florence could work with this block of marble. However, Michelangelo was able to turn it into his masterpiece, David! You will also hear about how he carved it to be viewed from a particular perspective. For this reason, some of the body parts may seem out of proportion when viewed from other angles.
Duomo Exterior
This iconic and colorful cathedral is Florence's most recognized landmark. It rises high above the surrounding houses and is topped with a stunning dome designed by Brunelleschi. From outside, standing at one of the best angles, learn about this amazing piece of architecture, as well as see the famed bronze Baptistry Doors.
Ponte Vecchio
Learn the history behind Florence's most famous bridge, the Ponte Vecchio. Lined with shops selling gold and silver, this bridge has an incredible history. Hear about the original use for this bridge and how it has survived the test of time as you walk across it.
