About this activity
The tour starts at 6.00 PM meeting point Via Cavour 21 Red.
Starting, around the Baptistery and the Cathedral, in front of its elaborate marble facades. Thus you will know both the history and various anecdotes of the most imposing site of the city, among them “The miracle of the flowering tree” and “The history of the bull and the baker”. Then we will walk near the house of Dante and we will discuss the defamed church of Dante and Beatriz. Later we will stop to see the Palazzo Vecchio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palazzo_Vecchio), famous for its civil architecture; for having been the main headquarters of the guilds; and site from where the Medici family exercised their political power.
Once here, in front of Piazza della Signora we will see an open-air museum, composed of a number of statues including the copy of Michelangelo’s David, and the very well hidden profile sculpted by Michelangelo. We will then walk through the wings of the Galleria degli Uffizi. Bordering the Arno river, we will cross the Ponte Vecchio, famous for its jewelry shops. Before finishing the tour, that ends in front of Palazzo Pitti, you will have discovered much more than you imagined during your stay in Florence.
