What a fabulous way to spend a day. The market was amazing!! So many meats and cheeses to try. Instructors were welcoming and had us laughing most of they day. Never thought I would learn how to make pasta but I did and have the diploma to prove it!
Nicolo was an excellent host/chef. He took us through the Mercato Centrale to pick out ingredients. We were offered a generous tasting of meats and cheeses before heading back to the kitchen. This was an interactive experience. My 14 year old son volunteered to assist with preparing the bolognese sauce and was thrilled to get to cook beside a real Italian chef. The group was small enough that it was easy to watch them as they worked, as well as have the chefs assist us with the pasta making and preparing the tiramisu! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy cooking, eating, and a glass or 2 of Chianti!
I loved this class. The trip to the market was an added bonus. The tiramisu was delicious! I thought the class might be too long, but it flew by. I could have stayed for another couple of hours. Everyone clearly was having a great time.
A fun, interesting and engaging experience. Came away with new skills, understanding and good friends. This was a delightful journey, I will find time to do this again in the future.
I chose this particular class because the write-up said they did vegetarian dishes. I was not disappointed. From our meeting spot we walked to the central market where we picked up some of our ingredients. From there it was a short walk to the school. The cooking was a shared experience - some done by the chefs, some hands on. I was there with my granddaughter. The students were all English speaking and the chefs' command of the language was excellent. We walked out having prepared and eaten an excellent meal and with recipes for the dishes we had cooked. I would definitely recommend this.
My wife said the only thing she really needed to do in Florence was take a cooking class. This fit the bill perfectly. Kevin and Jon were our instructors and hosts and gave us a great experience in making homemade pasta, ravioli, tiramisu and a cookbook to go with it. Everything could be easily duplicated at home which was a great part. At the end we all ate our just-prepared lunch and it was terrific! Highly recommended.
This experience was so much fun. We began with a tour of Central Market to see the local produce and then went to the cooking school to learn how to make pasta and tiramisu from scratch. Pasta making by hand is HARD LABOR, but there were laughs galore, and the results when we got to eat what we had made were delicious!
What an excellent experience! Martina and Luca where brilliant hosts! They are very knowledgable, well organised and not a dull minute we had. Loved every bit of it- from the market , pasta, bolognese, wine, local nicknacks in-between and to finish off with tiramisu! Absolute delicious! Highly highly recommended!
I have never done a cooking class before and was worried that I would make something that I could never replicate at home, but that was not the case. The dishes we made we easy and DELICIOUS. I would most definitely commend this class to others who want to learn how to make past from scratch.
Fun class and delicious food!
