Day 1: Petén Itzá Lake
Stop At: Mercado De Flores, Avenida del Cementerio 18 calle, Guatemala, Ciudad, Guatemala
Our group tour starts in Flores, a small town located on an island. Flores is best used as a base from which to make daytrips. Tour members would be arriving at different times. Some may be jet lagged while others, not. Those who arrive early enough and have some energy could join us at Lake Petén Itzá, where we should be swimming. It is a 1-hour bus ride away from Flores. Transportation between Flores and the lake is complimentary.
Note: Mundo Maya International Airport (IATA: FRS) is just outside Flores and is the only other international airport in the country aside from Guatemala City.

Day 2: Helicopter Ride to El Mirador Archaeological Site
Stop At: El Mirador, Guatemala
Today we should be making a daytrip via a 45-minute helicopter ride to an archeological site called El Mirador. Although containing striking examples of Pre-classic Maya civilization, the remote location of El Mirador has prevented it from becoming a popular tourist site. Get ready for a 5-hour hike as we discover the area.

Day 3: Tikal Archaeological Site
Stop At: Peten, Tikal National Park Guatemala
Let’s make a daytrip via a 1.5-hour bus ride to Tikal. It is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization and one of the country’s greatest tourist draws.
Duration: 4 hours

Day 4: Paragliding on Lake Atitlán
Stop At: Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
Today we should be taking a direct flight to Panajachel, a small town located on the northeast shore of Lake Atitlán. After checking into the hotel, let’s go paragliding-yes, paragliding! Depending on the weather, the session lasts between 20 and 45 minutes. Afterwards, we are to go kayaking around the lake.

Day 5: Indian Nose Sunrise & Exploring the Villages Surrounding Lake Atitlan
Stop At: Indian Nose, San Pedro La Laguna Guatemala
We should start the day by taking a 30-minute hike to a viewpoint called Indian Nose, specifically to watch the sunrise over Lake Atitlán. After returning to the hotel and resting up a bit, we should be exploring by boat the villages surrounding Lake Atitlan. Although the cultures of these villages are influenced by the Maya people, each has its own personality and distinctive indigenous style.

Day 6: Chichicastenango Outdoor Market
Stop At: Mercado de Chichicastenango, Btw 7a & 8a Calle, Chichicastenango 14006 Guatemala
Let’s make a daytrip via a 2.5-hour bus ride to Chichicastenango, a town popular specifically for its Thursday and Sunday market. Expect to see vendors selling traditional attire, masks, handicrafts, food, flowers, pottery, wooden boxes, condiments, medicinal plants, candles, pom and copal (traditional incense), cal (lime stones for preparing tortillas), pigs and chickens.
Note: If Day 6 of when you begin this tour does not naturally fall on a Thursday or Sunday (when the market is open), then other fun arrangements would be made for you. Don't worry!

Day 7: Introduction Into Colonial Antigua Town
Stop At: Antigua Guatemala Cathedral, 5a Calle Oriente 5, Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala
Today we should be taking a 3-hour bus ride to Antigua, where we are to be based for the remainder of our trip. Let’s explore this colonial town for the remainder of today as well as tomorrow. Surrounded by 3 enormous volcanoes and mountains and otherwise famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture as well as a number of colonial-era landmarks, this town is unarguably Guatemala’s most beautiful.

Day 8: Exploring Colonial Antigua Town Some More
Stop At: antigua guatemala, Unnamed Road, Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala
Antigua was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. You can join our group sightseeing tours or simply wander aimlessly. Antigua is very compact and easy to walk around. Most tourist attractions are located in an 8-by-8 block area, less than 1 kilometer across.

Day 9: Pacaya Volcano
Stop At: Pacaya Volcano, Antigua 05001 Guatemala
Let’s make a daytrip via a 1.5-hour bus ride to an active complex volcano called Pacaya. It’s worth the 2-hour hike to reach the top. Whatever time is left today would be spent back in Antigua, hanging out and relaxing after this physically active trip.

Day 10: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Stop At: La Aurora International Airport, Central America, 9 Avenida 14-75, Guatemala 01013, Guatemala
Antigua is the final destination on our group tour of Guatemala. The capital of Guatemala, where the international airport is located, takes about an hour to reach by bus or car from Antigua. Transportation will be arranged for you if you book for 2 or more persons. If you are traveling solo, then you can directly pay for and take a taxi to reach the airport. Feel free to ask us for assistance.
