Stop At: Jotenji Temple, 1-29-9 Hakataekimae, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka 812-0011 Fukuoka Prefecture
We will show you three different places at this very beautiful temple compound. We will explain about it's interessting history, see the very beautiful Zen garden. In between we will visit a small tea shop where we will taste green tea and learn what is important to know when prepearing delicious green tea.

Stop At: Myoraku-ji Temple, 13-6 Gokushomachi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka 812-0037 Fukuoka Prefecture
On the way to this beautiful temple you will learn where the tea culture in Japan started and when. We will stop at a Kamaboko (Fishham) factory, that has existed for over 120 years and is still run by the founder's family in the fifth generation. After the break, we will visit Myoraku-ji Temple. It was founded in the year 1316 near Hakata Port but unfortunately was destroyed in a fire. In the 16th century it was rebuilt in it's current location.

We will take you to this beautiful Shingon Temple, hear about it's history and the difference between Zen- and Shingon-Buddhism, visit Japan's biggest sitting Buddha made of wood, experience the journey from death to paradise :-)

Stop At: Kushida Shrine, 1-41 Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka 812-0026 Fukuoka Prefecture
Last but definitely not least we will take you to Kushida Shrine and explain some Shinto rituals, visit the Inari Shrine which is integrated at the same compound and is a very fotogenic spot. Then we will have Umegae Mochi, which is a typical Hakata Sweet. (If the shop is closed, we will present you with another typical Fukuoka sweet).
