Stop At: Fayoum Pottery School, Tunis, Qaroun, Medina of Tunis, Tunis, Egypt
For this interesting trip I will meet you at 6am at your accomodation in Cairo downtown or Giza. This daytrip will take about 7 to 8 hours. -First we go by car to the oasis el Fayoum which is about 100km from Cairo. Here we have a wonderful mix of desert, culture and activities at the lake Qarun. We can also go up the Mudawara Mountain where you have a wonderful view all over Fayoum. Then we move to Wadi Hitan or Valley of the Whales is in the Protected Area of Wadi El Rayan and it was designated by UNISCO as a world Heritage Site in recognition of the 40 millions years old whale skeletons found there. After all these activities we go on a short way to Wadi Rayan where you can watch Egypt’s highest waterfall and maybe take a plunge into this refreshing pool. On our way back to Cairo we can also touch the lonely Magic Lake where we have also the chance to do interesting photos of the breathtaking scenery. Now our interesting and exhausting day is finished and I hope you liked it like me when I did it the first time.
