In central town Skärhamn there is a lively port, arts & crafts, shops, restaurants and cafés. You choose how you want to spend your time here. There are a couple of nice galleries offering beautiful art.
You might prefer to visit The Nordic Watercolour Museum, (not included, price 100 SEK /adult). The museum is internationally well known and price awarded - they show both international and Swedish art. The building is fascinating and situated almost on the sea, surrounded by the beautiful cliffs of Bohuslän.
You can of course choose to take a walk in the village or along the splendid coast.

The Nordic Watercolour Museum is situated extremely beautiful almost on the sea, in the small city Skärhamn, on the westcoast of the island Tjörn. With a wonderful view over the sea and cliffs they show world class exhibitions. This autumn the museum offers an exhibition of Nancy Speros:
"American artist Nancy Spero (1926–2009) was one of the pioneers of feminist art. Through unconventional materials, new forms of expression and a pronounced political commitment, she broke in the 1960s with the established art scene and was active in founding of the women's gallery A.I.R. in New York in the 1970s."
The museum is an inspiring meeting place for art, nature and people, an arena for art based on water, pigment and paper.
Since the start, world class art has been shown; Salvador Dali, Bill Viola, Louise Bourgeois and Swedish favorites like Elsa Beskow, Anders Zorn and Lars Lerin.
In their "open studio", you can realize your artistic dreams. Here you find watercolor paper, brushes and paint and personnel from the museum that you can ask for help.

In the small town Stenungsund on the westcoast we will visit a truly unique exhibition of glass art shown in a cavern; SeaSide. The more than 100 pieces of glass art will be displayed in a fascinating way with for example lights and water.
The artist is the well known Mr Kjell Engman. Former exhibitions have attracted more than 20,000 visitors from all over.
We can assure you it will be a magnificent experience!
