About 1000 years ago the ancestors of local Zhuang people and Yao people arrived this area, started the cultivation of rice terrace along the slope of high mountains. The lowest part of rice terrace is about 380 meters above sea level, with the contrast of highest part of rice terrace at the sea level higher than 1280 meters, forming a magnificent view unique in Guangxi region. In the year of 2018 Longji rice terrace was listed as Globally Important Agricuture Heritage System by Food and Agricuture Orgonization of United Nations

Yao ethic in China have many divisions, and been scattered in diffferent area in South-west China. During this private tour, you will meet Red Yao ethnic due to the red colour cloth they wear. Different hair weaving style shows the marrige status of Yao woman. When they are 16 years old, Yao woman cut the long hair only once in their life and keep it in a bunch as a treasure. They also collect the lost hair while combing each time and form another bunch of hair, two bunches of hair are hidden in the weaving of hair style.
