Day-long Heritage Bamboo Flute Crafting Experience

Itinerary

In the morning we will depart for Zhongtai Village, visiting the home of the Intangible Heritage Flute crafting master before setting off on a walk amongst the towering seas of bamboo, arriving at the bitter bamboo garden while to listen to the master explain bamboo selection and factors important in flute craft.
The bamboo forests sit on the banks overlooking a newly constructed reservoir. After a serene quiet walk, we’ll gather around to enjoy lunch.
After you’ve eaten, the master will explain the traditional crafting process of the bamboo flute - from line-marking to hole-cutting, sanding ， and polishing. You’ll see base-crafted flutes as you would never be able at any music store.
In roughly 2 hours, you’ll be holding your own, finished flute! Learn basic scales with your instructor and then get started on “Twinkle-twinkle Little Star”. Impress the teacher with your effort and you’ll win a personalized engraving on your new flute.
