This tour was full of surprises, from the number of steps required to negotiate the cloisters of the pagoda to the serene boat ride around Trang An. Seeing one of the sets for the movie "Kong: Skull Island" was another treat. And I don't think I have ever seen so much gold in one place before. Our guide Vang had a bit of a challenge, conducting the tour in both Vietnamese and English, and sometimes the group got separated -- more instruction regarding where to meet after a few minutes of wandering on our own would have been much appreciated, and at Trang An we could have used a bit of introductory commentary as to what was expected of us and what we could expect to see. The buffet lunch between venues was quite extensive, catering to many different palates; no one should have left hungry when we had adequate time to load up our plates several times over. All in all, a wonderful day well spent, and certainly worth the cost.
The scenery at the temple and the row boat trip caves were lovely. However, it was a very rushed trip. If you are not fit, have difficulty walking etc then this is not for you. There were hundreds of steps to go up and we were rushed. Some steps were very steep. Our guide, although polite, rushed us through telling us we had 1 minute here and 1 minute there. Several people couldn't get to the top. The lunch was very average and there were hidden costs, e.g. paying to use the toilet at the temple and tipping the lady rowing the boat, even though we had to help her row back upstream! Such a pity as we would like to have spent longer there.
Whole day of fun! Beautiful sites. Amazing Pagoda. It was hot, but still the views and site exploration was all the worthwhile. And the river cruise was icing on the cake! Absolutely worth, highly recommended. Good value, well priced!
scenic tour pagoda is just for tourist no monks just staff makes me wonder who gets the donations for here ? is it the owner lunch was the worst food ive tried to eat very cold and overall terrible
