Half-Day Hanoi Foodie Tour on Bike
4 h
Half Day
About this activity
Our tour guide and taxi driver pick you up from your hotel lobby to West Lake (2km from Hanoi Old quarter). Visit Tran Quoc pagoda the oldest pagoda of Hanoi since the 5th century. Our tour guide will tell you about Hanoi history via the formation of West Lake.
Take over the private bikes and start cycling with our guide. The 2-wheel journey rides you from Tran Quoc pagoda to get around the lake in clockwise. If the excursion is in the morning, you can enjoy the tranquility of the lake when all Hanoians are in their working hours. If the excursion is in the afternoon, you can immerse yourselves among the bustling local life when all people are riding back home after working hours. Stop to visit 1 of the famous pagodas/temples (Vong Thi, or Tao Sach, or Temple of Mother Goddess), visit 1 of the lotus ponds during their blooming months of May – July.
Enjoy Vietnamese Lotus tea, or Jasmine tea in a rattan tent among the lotus pond, or Vietnamese Robusta coffee in a lakeside coffee shop with the nice view surroundings.
Enjoy Vietnamese hot-steamed snails and “bun rieu cua” hot-crab soft-noodles in a local restaurant near from Temple of Mother Goddess. The restaurant is next to the lotus ponds. Taste some favourite snacks of “pho cuon” beef-noodle-rolls.
The excursion offers cyclists a lot of photo chances. You can capture the moment of a fresh Morning (8.30 – 11.00 late May – early July) for lotus blooming photos, or Afternoon (15.00 – 17.30) for sunset down on the lake. You also see Starwoods or Intercontinental hotels standing next to serene pagodas, a rare contrast image you don’t see in any Asian capitals.
Stop at Tran Quoc pagoda to end our roundtrip around West Lake. End of your tour at your hotel.
