Hanoi Highlights Full-Day Small Group Tour

At 8:00 – 8:30AM, pick up at your hotel in Hanoi. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum* and Museum to explore the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-place. Next door there is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda (Mot Cot) which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. According to legend, the pagoda’s shape was inspired by the lotus flower and this structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda on the West lake (One of the oldest pagoda in Vietnam).Then visit Bat Trang pottery village (only on Monday, Wednesday & Friday). Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit the Ethnology Museum (on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday), the Temple of Literature (Quoc Tu Giam) which is Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070. You will enjoy its well-preserved architecture and a relaxing walk in its gardens. Then continue to the wonderful Hoan Kiem Lake and walk across the famous red wooden bridge to visit the Ngoc Son Temple set on a tiny island. For the last part of the tour explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also called the “36 streets” referring to the different categories of products which used to be sold in each street. The tour ends around 15:30 – 16:00, drop off at your hotel.

 *The Mausoleum opens only in the morning, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It closes annually in September – December for restoration.
