About this activity
This private full-day Hanoi tour takes in all the key sightseeing, starting in the morning with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex. The complex comprises of Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh museum. Next, visit the Temple of Literature, originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam's first university dating back to 1070. Inside are the stone steles mounted on the backs of turtles, inscribed with the names of the university's graduates. The complex is divided into five courtyards with different paths that would originally have been reserved for the Emperor and his mandarins. One of the courtyards contains the statue of Confucius guarded by two beautiful bronze storks standing on turtles.
* Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays. On these days, visitors will tour Hoa Lo Prison instead.
After a sumptuous Vietnamese lunch, tour the Museum of Ethnology, widely acknowledged as the best in the Vietnam which houses a display dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic minority peoples. Afterward, head to Ngoc Son Temple set on a tiny island in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake. The Ngoc Son temple dates back to the 13th century, and the lake itself is a picturesque focal point of Hanoi, frequented by tourists and locals alike.
End the day with a one-hour cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. Also known as the 36 streets, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities. At approximately 6:00pm, you will return you to your hotel.

It was a rainy day so we walked about in the rain. Tour was good, tour guide Van was very friendly, informative and accomodating, seeing as we had senior citizens and a newborn in the group. It was cold! 10 degrees out and light rain. Trishaw ride was fun. Lunch was superb. A great tour and a great way to see Hanoi!
Tour was excellent. Tour started on time and tour guide, Long, was very knowledgeable. Driver and the included meal were excellent. We did all the visits that were listed but walked through the old quarter our choice so we could keep Long as our guide rather than taking the cyclo ride. Highly recommended tour of Hanoi.
Best way of getting around Hanoi, my favourite city and place in Vietnam. Its busy, the hotel we were staying was amazing, our tour guide was the BEST!! OMG he made Hanoi for me. I was celebrating my 50th, and everything went clock work. The weather is hot, but the people, this tour was fantastic. If I could give this a 10 star I would. The tour guide works for Buffalo Tours, is the best guide eva!
We had the most wonderful tour guide, Trang. She was delightful, very attuned to the things we were interested in and went to great lengths to ensure we had a wonderful day. The Ho Chi Minh precinct was very interesting and Trang introduced us to some scrumptuous Vietnamese treats. The restaurant where we stopped for lunch was great and we enjoyed the Cyclo tour just as much. We would have loved to steal Trang so she could be our guide for our entire Vietnam adventure.
Absolutely fantastic tour! Picked up promptly, our tour guide Tien was full of knowledge, very nice and patient while we took photos. Lunch was lovely in a nice restaurant. Highly recommend! Great way to see Hanoi and learn about its history at your own pace and comfort of being chauffeured
Our tour guide Huy was awesome. He was very punctual in picking us up and making sure we were comfortable. His English was awesome and was a well seasoned experienced guide. We had an awesome day seeing so much wonderful history we may have missed trying to do this ourselves. He took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch. Only negative was that it was supposed to be included with the tour and they had us pay the bill, but it was excellent dining and for less than 20 dollars for 3 people I am not going to complain. Our guide also wanted to know if there was anything special we wanted to see which was away from the tourist areas. He was happy to take us thru the neighborhoods and local market areas where the local people live each day. That was such a highlight for us. I would highly recommended this company and especially our tour guide to anyone visiting Hanoi. If I could give him 10 stars I would....
