VIETNAM INSIGHT - 11 DAYS

DAYS 1-4: HANOI & HALONG BAY

On arrival in Hanoi, transfer to your hotel. Meet the small group with whom you will share your journey at a tour briefing and welcome drinks. Slip away to the ancient Temple of Literature and infamous ‘Hanoi Hilton’ prison, and enjoy a famous water puppet performance. Cruise amongst thousands of limestone islands on captivating Halong Bay, and fall asleep to the water lapping at the bow of your private boat, your accommodation for the night, before returning to Hanoi. Take the opportunity to join a backstreets walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter with the chance to see and try some local Vietnamese snacks.

 

DAYS 5-7: HUE & HOI AN

Fly to the former imperial capital of Hue and explore the rich history of this complex city, including the Citadel, an elaborate emperors’ tomb and the tranquil Thien Mu Pagoda. Depart for a beautiful drive past lush rice fields and pretty coastal views, including the famous Hai Van Pass as you drive to Hoi An. Enjoy a market tour with the young people from the Streets Foundation who introduce you to some of the local produce. Stroll through the fascinating streets of Hoi An to discover traditional houses and temples and the iconic Japanese Bridge. With your free time, you might want to challenge your skills during a fun cooking class, whisk away on a short bicycle ride to the gleaming beach nearby, or shop till you drop at one of the many masterful tailors in town.

 

DAYS 8-11: SAIGON & MEKONG DELTA

From Hoi An fly to the bustling city of Saigon. Enjoy an authentic local breakfast, and then travel to the amazing Cu Chi tunnels to gain an insight into the history of the resilient Vietnamese people.In a walking tour stroll along the city’s historic Dong Khoi Street, the former Rue Catinat, and expand your knowledge at the fascinating War Remnants Museum. Explore the heart of the Mekong Delta as you wind your way down the rivers and canals of this fascinating region by speedboat, and meet some intriguing characters at local markets and villages. Spend your last night in Saigon enjoying a farewell dinner. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
