Water Puppetry is a traditional art form with distinctive culture identity of Vietnam. It came into existence, developed and diversified over a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. Thanks to unique performances on the water, this puppetry art is famous and highly appreciated all over the world.

In early days, water puppetry showed the daily life of villagers such as farming, fishing, romance and children playing. Now, the topics of the plays are also picked from ancient legends, myths and historic stages.

Without an English translation it’s difficult to put it into context. Talented artists but it does drag on a bit. Seats are a tight squeeze if you’ve got long legs. If you have time do it but l wouldn’t go back for a second dose. Save yourself some money and buy tickets on the spot; we go there with 40 mins to spare and the line was short. Ok seats cost 100,000 VND (about $5AUD)

Tickets were provided for the next day and left at hotel reception without any issues. Seats were great for our zone, as central and forward as you could be. Really recommend this provider!

Tickets were waiting for us at the hotel when we checked in. Water puppet show was entertaining and the traditional music was lovely.

A must do in Hanoi! Highly entertaining and full of fun! Get as close to the front as you can. The show is delightful!
