Wake Up With the Whales Cruise
1h30
About this activity
After arriving at beautiful Anaeho'omalu Bay, you'll gather with the other whale watchers to take a short shuttle boat ride out to the Whale Watching catamaran -- please note: depending on wind and tide conditions, you may have to walk through knee deep water to access the shuttle boat boarding ramp. The shuttle boat ride takes just a few minutes...and after your crew secures the two vessels, you'll walk up a three step staircase (our friendly crew will assist you as necessary), and you'll be aboard the stable and legendary catamaran. Help yourself to hot coffee, refreshing tropical juices, or soft drinks and crunchy granola snacks as the rest of the group boards. These complimentary snacks and beverages are available throughout the cruise (as well as adult beverages from the complimentary tropical bar)-- and our crew is happy to bring them to you too!
As you get underway, your USCG certified captain will introduce you to the boat and the crew, and provide a safety orientation. Often you'll see your first Humpback spout before we even leave the bay! As the captain maneuvers the vessel towards those first spouts and splashes, our on-board marine naturalist will provide interpretation and answer your questions about the Humpbacks' behaviors. Ocean Sports is proud to follow the federal guidelines protecting the Humpback Whales. Your group won't approach the whales closer than 100 yards, or maneuver our boats in ways that might alter the behavior of the whales. When weather conditions allow, your guide will deploy the underwater hydrophone so that you can hear the whales singing!
You will return to the Bay 90 minutes after departing, and reverse our boarding process to deboard the catamaran via the shuttle boat.

The crew was helpful and knowledgeable. We saw many whales and the captain was able to get close enough to view these magnificent creatures. Highly recommend this excursion if in Hawaii during the winter months.
Great crew, very professional, Naturalist was very informative, safe and enjoyable. Whales cooperated and it was lots of fun!!
