Your guide and driver will wait for you in the lobby of your Ho Chi Minh hotel, then you will start your drive northwest to Cu Chi.

The scenery along the way to Cu Chi is a combination of picturesque rice fields, gardens and rubber plantations that will inspire you, until you reach the province. It is from here that the north Vietnamese waged their guerrilla warfare. You will marvel at their ingenuity and resilience. Discover secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas and meeting rooms.

After a short introduction to the tunnel network of more than 75mi (121 km) you will have a chance to crawl into a short section of the tunnels to feel the oppressive narrowness and heat inside. Documentaries and displays of bloody traps will give you a vivid idea of the life and struggle in the tunnels during the war time.

The more adventurous may explore the deeper second, and even third level tunnels. For those preferring to remain above ground, there is ample opportunity to view excavated areas from above. Your guide will advise you of the length and level of difficulty of each tunnel before entering - some are easily accessed by stairs. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and sun protection for this tour and advised that you may get a little dirty.

After this encounter with history, you will be transferred you back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, where you will arrive around lunch time.
