5.30PM pick you up at your hotel (prefer district 1). Thich Quang Duc monk has been elevated to the status of a Boddhisattva (Bo Tat) – an enlightened person who forgoes Nirvana to save others. Thich Quang Duc monk is famous for self-immolation in protest to Diem’s South Vietnamese regime and its persecution of Buddhists On 11th June 1963. The reason was that Ngo Dinh Diem had arrested many Buddhist faithful and ransack pagodas to advance agenda of country’s Catholic minority.
