Shore Excursion: Full-Day My Son Sanctuary Tour from Chan May Port

Your guide will meet your cruise ship after arrival in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for the 2-hour drive to My Son, once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Champa and still the most important Cham site in Vietnam. This unique culture, based on Indian Hinduism, flourished on the coast of what is now Vietnam between the fourth and thirteenth centuries AD.

Located in the heart of a beautiful valley and surrounded by high mountain ranges, the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built with wood, they were completely destroyed by fire in the sixth century and restored in the seventh century by King Sambhuvarman, who rebuilt the temples with locally made bricks. Over the centuries, more than 70 similar temples were built, establishing My Son as a sanctuary of Hinduism in the Champa Kingdom.

Your guide will escort you around the site for around two hours, before returning to the vehicle for the drive back to port.
