About this activity
Our local guide welcomes you at hotel lobby.
Cycle to the home of a craftsman. Here you will have a brief introduction to the history, shapes and colors of the lantern as well as the processing stages of lanterns. Locals believe hanging lanterns in front of their houses brings luck, happiness and wealth to the family living in the house. Traditionally the lanterns were only made of silk and the shapes were limited, however, lantern makers have diversified not only the shapes of the lantern but also the medium with which they are made. As a result, you will now notice that a lot of the lanterns around Hoi An are shaped as lotuses, diamonds, triangles and garlics, and they are made from cardboard and nylon fibers in addition to the traditional silk versions.
Make your own lantern and keep it as a souvenir.
Say goodbye to the craftsman, cycle to the Tra Que herb village for lunch. This village is famous for many kinds of vegetables in a long time (lettuce, salad, houttuynia, flagrant knout-wed, basil and coriander vegetables, etc.). The village is named after the sweet- scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of the Hoi An people. Here a spirit for traditional Hoi An dish like Cao Lau, Quang noodles. Relax in fresh air and warm-welcome of the locals.
