Stop At: Thanh Ha Pottery Village, 3 km West of Hoi An, Hoi An Vietnam
Located on the romantic Thu Bon River, Thanh Ha pottery village in Hoi An is about 500 years old, famous for its beautiful and durable terracotta pottery products, which were included in the list of "real estate'' by the Nguyen court.
According to longtime craftsman in Thanh Ha pottery village, from the stage of making soil, up to the table, through the hands molded on the turntable, until the Thanh Ha pottery products, are meticulous, elaborate. Clay materials must go through the annealing process to retain moisture; then stuffed, beat the soil and then start forming. There are sophisticated ceramic products, which require smooth soil, must go through the process of filtering soil 2-3 times to remove impurities.
Nowadays, Thanh Ha pottery village still produces manually with traditional means and techniques, becomes a living museum, a precious source of information about traditional pottery of Hoi An in particular and of Vietnam in general.
