Best of Mongkok Walking Food Tour with Guide
Start by meeting your friendly foodie guide at 2pm at Mongkok MTR station.
From there, you will start your foodie tour with a tasty sampling of dim sum at a 1-star Michelin Dim Sum restaurant. 'Dim sum', literally meaning 'touch your heart', are mostly snack-sized portion and served in small bamboo containers. Dim sum is traditionally eaten with Chinese tea.
Then, you will have the opportunity to taste 'Chinese BBQ', also known as 'Siu Mei'. These are highly seasoned meats that are roasted on an open fire or in a rotisserie oven. The most popular Siu Mei are barbecue pork (boneless), barbecue goose, and roast pork.
Throughout this tour, your foodie guide will delight you with the history of Mongkok and share fun facts with you. By the end, you will know more of Hong Kong’s food culture and history of development. In between tastings, you will get a chance to stop by an iconic wet market that offers a blast to the past, filled with fresh meat and produce. You will then experience 2 more family-run tasting food stalls featuring Hong Kong’s classic food. These stops may include sweet Tofu dessert (very silky smooth tofu with sweet syrup), the marvelous fresh baked egg tarts, or pineapple buns from the local bakery.
While in this bustling corner, your local guide will let you to have a sample tastings of various sorts of skewers and mini egg puffs or some local street snacks. After the tour is finished, your tour guide will then see you off at the Mongkok MTR station.
