About this activity
Being not only one of the most well-known beach destinations, it is also one of the oldest in Thailand. This because of being the official summer residence of the Royal Family since 1920. Both Hua Hin and the only 25 kilometers’ more northern located Cha-Am are just the perfect beach destinations for leisurely stays, combined with excellent white sandy beaches, various water sports (sailing and wind-surfing) and the top quality golf courses, scattered in-lands but within easy reach makes this one of these favorites places in this Kingdom for a relaxing stay. Surrounding this Royal beach destination lies plenty to be explored and this afternoon tour gives you just that diverse impression of what lies beyond the beaches.

We’re setting out in the afternoon from your resort along Hua Hin or Cha-am (conditions apply) and head first to Khao Takiab, or Monkey Mountain. Situated between the two main beach regions of Hua Hin, just south of the city centre, the view along Hua Hin’s coastline is unparalleled once you climb the mountain with its big Buddha image and the dozens of monkeys, living here. Be mindful when walking along the paths up to the view point as these primates do like dangling stuff and are not afraid to grab whatever they seem to find interesting.

Further inlands and a very important pilgrimage site for devout, Thai Buddhist, the Wat Huay Monkol currently serves as the site of an immense statue of Luang Phor Thuate. The admiration of this popular Thai monk goes way back due to the fact that people believe he had extraordinary powers to perform miracles for the betterment of the nation. It is not uncommon to see locals from all around the country paying respect to his spirit and good deeds from a bygone era. The Living Museum ‘Plearnwan’ is a perfect ad-on to what makes Hua Hin such a delightful destination to spend your holiday; the unique architecture contains elements all related to the life and the culture of Thailand as a testimony to its people and their everyday lives.

We end the afternoon heading further inland and to one of the cooler regions; temperatures along the foothills just reach perfect levels when one wants to make wine. The Hua Hin Hills Vineyard has been on the top of the Thai wine-makers because of its high-quality grapes to bottle the finest wines and has served for decades as one of the centre for education and training for future winemakers. Although this part of Thailand is one of the driest regions, the tropical climate surrounding the Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is a clear example that one can cultivate new latitude wines even in tropical climates.

We return back to your hotel in Hua Hin / Cha-am at around 5:30pm.
