The raw materials used are purchased by the farmers locally, and the finished products are then sold through a village co-operative within India and exported worldwide. On arrival, watch the creative village weaving technique, tie-dying, and the ‘ikkat’ textiles making process. Also, visit a local institute that trains locals in entrepreneurial skills and explore an art gallery showcasing the intricate artistry of the ikkat style of dye.
Afterward, check out Pochampally’s famous 101 Darwaja House, named so because of its 101 doors and windows. Explore this old house, which is also an interesting heritage site, with a 150-year-old history. Each of the opening offers a pleasant view of the surroundings, which is the uniqueness of the house.
