Day 1: Istanbul-Troy
Stop At: Troy (Truva), Tevfikiye Koyu, Intepe, Canakkale Turkey
Departure from Istanbul early in the morning. Breakfast on the way. Lunch in Eceabat. Visiting ancient city of Troy, cultural strata of Troy. After tour departure for Eceabat. Overnight in Eceabat.
The lands lies between the Dardanelles, sea of Marmara,Edremit Bay. It was called Troas or Troad in ancient times. The present location is known as Hisarlık. It was place of the Troyan war described in the Greek cycle Iliad. The myth says Troyan war was caused because Troyan prince Paris stole Helen, wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta.
The Wooden Horse-At the entrance of the ruins was built in 1975. The myth says that horse was used as a war trick. The Troyans took it inside as a gift from Spartans, without knowing soldiers were in it.

The Gallipoli peninsula is located in the Europian part of Turkey, with the Aegean sea to the west and the Dardanelles strait to the east. Canakkale war was a campaign of World War I in the Ottoman Empire between 25.april 1915. to january 1916. Russia’s allies Britain and France launched a naval attack, with the aim of capturing Constantinople (Istanbul). The campaign was one of the greatest Ottoman victories during war. The war formed the basis for the Turkish war of indepedence and the declaration of the Republic of Turkey 8 years later under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who was commander at Gallipoli.
A tale of heroism Corporal Seyit-Corporal Seyit interred in the Rumeli Mecidiye Cemetery, virtually changed the course of the war single-handedly. He lifted the 275 kg shell,placed it in the gun and fired.
